Peugeot 208 new engines

Peugeot enriches the range of the 208 model  with its new three-cylinder engines to improve fuel efficiency and performance.

The new engines are two. A VTi 1.2 with a power of 82 hp and whose consumption is below 4.5 liters per 100 km and emissions are set at 104 g / km.

This engine makes 0 to 100 km / h in 12.2 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 175 km / h. Furthermore, Peugeot offers another even smaller engine: the 1.0 VTi 68 hp, which accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 14 seconds and reaches a top speed is 163 km / h. It consumes on average 4.3 km l/100 and emits 99 g / km of CO2.

If we compare these two three-cylinder engines with the previous 1.4 75 hp 1.4, the new ones are more compact and lightweight 21 kg reducing emissions by 25%. Moreover, during the next year, the range will be complemented by a 208 VTi 1.2 version equipped with the Stop & Start and automatic control box in order to reduce CO2 emissions to 95 g / km.
